Cubs Acquire Minor League Pitcher as PTBNL in Bynum Trade

The Chicago Cubs announced today that they aquired 24-year-old minor league pitcher Kevin Hart from the Baltimore Orioles as the player to be named later in the Freddie Bynum trade. As a 23-year-old in high-A ball last year, Hart had a 4.61 ERA in 148.1 innings, with a 1.9 K/BB ratio.

Cubs Trade Bynum to Baltimore

Opening up a spot on the 40-man roster, the Cubs today traded Freddie Bynum to the Baltimore Orioles, reports ESPN. Bynum hit .257/.308/.456 in 136 at-bats and 9 walks for the Cubs in 2006. He was expendable with the emergence of Ryan Theriot.
