(Courtesy of The Sports Xchange) PLAYER NOTES -- RHP Kerry Wood, who is recovering from shoulder and knee surgeries, threw a 30-pitch bullpen session at Dodger Stadium before Monday night's game. It was the first time the Cubs had seen him since spring training. The Cubs likely will allow him to throw an accelerated batting practice or simulated game on Thursday and then give serious thought to sending him for a minor league rehab assignment next week.

Ohman, who was a setup man last year, could be in line in some instances to face a single batter in pressure situations during games. Cubs manager Dusty Baker said anyone who could assume that role needed good command and he has seen that in Ohman this spring.
