Orioles to Work Scott Moore Out in Outfield

The Baltimore Orioles are going to give former Cub Scott Moore a look in the outfield as a way of bolstering his chances of making the team, reports the Washington Post. The Orioles acquired Moore in the ill-fated Steve Trachsel trade.

Cubs Trade Rocky Cherry and Scott Moore for Steve Trachsel

The Cubs now have their starter for Game 2 of the September 15 doubleheader against St. Louis. And if they get into a one-game playoff at the end of the year. Here is the press release. Having Trachsel back eight years after he last pitched in a Cubs uniform is a little weird. For what it is worth, he posted a 2.37 ERA in 6 starts in August.

Cedeno Recalled; Moore Demoted

Jake Fox (0-for-1) has "won" the battle with Scott Moore (0-for-5) to remain following Derrek Lee's return from his suspension. The Cubs have recalled Ronny Cedeno, who has been killing the ball at Iowa since his demotion, while demoting Moore.

Ward to DL; Scott Moore Up

Daryle Ward ended up on the 15-day disabled list with his torn calf muscle. Scott Moore replaced him on the big league roster and will start at first base today. Moore has hit .266/.373/.517 for Iowa this year. He has six home runs in his last six games. Moore and Jake Fox are now, apparently, in what amounts to a half-week battle to stay on the roster once Derrek Lee returns from his suspension.
